This is beautiful. Will you update your itch.io demo with the latest build soon? It’s a bit out of date.
It’s so good to keep coming back and see you’re still going strong. And kudos for keeping up blog posts — it can be really hard to keep momentum sometimes! (…as I’ve found this year)
I actually downloaded Godot the other week and I’m eager to get into it once my immediate deadlines are past. The manual seems pretty good, but if you learned through some specific tutorial you would recommend, let me know. It seems to have numerous advantages over GameMaker (not least of all being free), and I’ll be interested to compare the two once I get familiar with it.
Peace out

Sorry for the late reply, I’ve only just seen your comment. I’m sort of hoping to sell it for a small price when I’ve finished, so I’m reluctant to have a version of the game available for free. I might release a free demo with a few battles closer to release.
When learning Godot, I just followed their Dodge the Creeps tutorial: https://docs.godotengine.org/en/stable/getting_started/step_by_step/your_first_game.html
Then I made a short joke game, looking things up as I went along. The best places for information are probably the official Q&A page and of course the documentation. I’ve also found people on the subreddit usually answer any questions I have. Good luck with your Godot-ing.
